Title: husky wr250
Post by: frostype400 on September 12, 2011, 08:36:26 pm
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Husqvarna-WR-250-/260851913614?pt=AU_Motorcycles&hash=item3cbbfc538e

Cheap enough wonder what it will go for.

There you go Frosty, buy that and shoehorn your XT500 motor into it and have a homegrown HL500.  You'll forget all about your PE's then.

I don't want a HL. ::) I'd rather that husky like that. ;D

Thanks Michael,
I've got a nice YZ400F motor that would fit in that. :o

Seriously ?
I'm chasing something for a KLX chassis too. Are they center port or side port?

The YZ400 is centre port. I'm hoping that the Husky is too. It's a bit hard to see from that one photo. Not worried though, it's pretty easy to convert the downtube to duplex.

The husky is a side port, comes out to the left.

No problem, I'm sure I've got some waterpipe or conduit at home to make that into a duplex ;D
Thanks for the info evo.

Why would any of you destroy a decent bike to make a hybrid? If you must do it, I have a spare '81 Husky CR430 frame & swingarm, fuel tank, forks, triples, hubs.
Cheers,
K

Sorry, I'll stop building hybrids immediately. Don't know what I was thinking. That Husky has gone crazy anyway. It's already up to $330 - almost out of my price range.

I love my hybrids god knows, but not with a complete bike that has restoration potential.

I would buy it to ressurrect if it was me.

Thanks for defending me Michael, but I was actually joking about hacking that up. It would make a great project bike for someone, particularly given that it's almost complete. Thanks for posting it.
I think I'll just stick to what I know (whatever that is) and give the humour a big miss, :(
Pete.

Oh I would never hack something like that up but if someone else wanted to what can you do it is up to them if they own it.

I just bought a 1983 honda cr125 roller if you want you could hack it up. ;D

Now there's a frame for the YZ400 - joking, joking, honestly. You certainly are accumulating some bikes Michael. I think that you need to come over to the dark side (Yamaha).

I have three yamaha's that is enough I would have thought.

If you still want to do some hacking it won't worry me I have a suzuki ts250x frame centre port you can have for free and a mt250 frame for free as well they don't have to be hacked but if you wanted to they could be.

I thought you were joking when you first posted but I wasn't 100% sure.

That's a generous offer, thankyou. I'll keep it in mind. I have to get out of Indonesia and home to finish my budget bike first.
