Forget raising your tranfers 3/8 ths of a poofteenth. Bugger the spark plugs that'll give you an extra .25 of a HP. Throw those new emulators into the back of the cupboard.....
If you want to ride faster, with more confidence and have a ton of fun, sign yourself up to one of Lee Hogans "Building Champions Program" clinics when there's one near you. ;)
Like a lot of people here I've never had any proper 'coaching' and I must say I was a little perturbed at the thought of having three very quick young guys on modern four-bangers (Lee couldn't be there today but will be tomorrow) rolling their eyes at the mistakes I've managed to take on over the past thirty odd years.
It made no difference that I was riding an eleven year old 2T. Or my age (which I was sure would call for some attention). Nope.
These three lads were super proffessional, courteous, not hung-up on themselves and taught me more about what I can do on a bike in one day than I've picked up through all the white-knuckle determination beforehand. ;)
I can't believe there's another day to go.... ;D

And with this gained confidence your typing style might change ;D

Now, now Pauline....at least he rides...and your right Ross, riding schools are very benifical and alot of FUN. I dont know anyone who has been to one and not got something out of it...plus you usually get to hang out with some guns....shit, we might even get you up for CD8.....you can sit on one side, GMC on the other and matchstick boy can sit in the middle.....sort of... ;D

That's ok Hoony. I still have your DVD that I bought entitled "How to get a workout by just trying to start your motorcycle" sittin' in the cabinet there whenever I wanna think of workin' up a sweat...... ;)
* I've tried watching it in one sitting but I always end up dozing off. :-[ (mind you at four hours in length it is a bit of an epic.....)

Yep, I did a Proart riding course over two days, the first was MX and the 2nd Enduro. Solid Gold. I learnt more in those two days than I thought was possible, you soon realise that it not impossible to to teach an old dog new tricks.

Drink plenty of fluids.......
Just back after the second day and all I can say is that I need a bit of a lay down. :-[. My idea of a clinic was a little bit of riding, lots of snacks and coffee's and a fair amount of gas-baggin'
I reckon I went through 40 lts of fuel nearly!
-
so when will we see the results ross
-
the best $200 you will ever spend is at Kiwi klub kevlars mermaid Bar!!!!!

Bit hard to say Grant. I was getting smoked by a little fat kid on a KTM 80 in our 'chasey' races all day (I couldn't even catch the little prick to kick him off >:() so I don't know when it'll all kick in......
-
what track was it held at Ross "Monza" ?
-
Yes it was Hoony. Track was fantastic (despite the big dumping of water that we all got) and the weather was perfect (as always.... ;))
Lee said I was fantastic and hinted at a factory ride but negotiatons ended when I stated that I only like to work a coupla hours a day and only do three lap races ::).
-
its all good if you pick something up.took me along time to find a coach for jr as i wanted someone with the same style of riding, dont belive in changing someones riding style.
-
I did a BCP school last year, most has gone out the window, but the starting technique they teach, I stuck with, and works great for me now.
Takes some getting used to though.

Yeah. It feels a little crazy but when you do it right it works cool. I'm gunna try and stick with it.
The most outstanding thing for me was flat corners. I was always all over the shop with 'em. Now I reckon' I got them licked! ;)
-
yep, i agree did Lee's school at Broadford a few years back and he catered it for the VCM & Viper boys, i had the flat corners nailed and yes the starting drill is unusual but bloody hell does it work well when you nail it right ( got me into 2nd place in the moderns on my old banger at Barrabool 2 years or so ago till i faded after 2 laps).

Riding schools will go where ever you want them too!!
Mossy usually needs 20 riders to cover a WA trip.We scored a junior grant so it cheaper for the riders.
Have booked in three times this year for our club, and no we are not slow learners ;) ;D just have people wanting the mx coaching in the south west !!
cheers A

Maybe you could just tell us the start gate story and the flat corner drill, so those poor of us interstate can rate the idea ??

Nah, we may be on the grid together one day, secret squirrel business. Oh alright then,
Flat corner:- pitch it slideways like a speedway bike and keep it pinned, taking rest of field out but you play on ;).
Start drill, 3rd gear full throttle with your legs on the cross bar pad to keep the front down. :D
-
thats funny ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
good advice hoony ,will get jr to try that. i like it ;D
