Is that Firko's old one?
It looked like a great project if it was.

Yep..same bike. I'm flabbergasted, it's a good bike so don't think he's selling it because I sold him a lemon. :'(
Nothing like a quick quid eh Dave? What happened to the $1750 'break even" buy it now price?

Freaky , l am know more a dealer than you are and firko, and the rest off you lot, a dealer makes money l am just covering my cost, nothing said about firko making money out of me. do you think firko bought the yamaha for $1600 at the time, l don`t think so. l bought the dt2 off Mark in good faith, and at the time l have bought ossa`s with some friends lots of them, so l have decided to sell the yamaha as l don`t need it. someone else can have the pleasure of restoring it.

So this is your chance to buy it. WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM

I'd hardly call it naked profiteering! 400 bucks for all the rootin' around doesn't seem too bad. Better than stuffing it away in storage for twenty years..... ::)

I am hoping that one of our Club members will buy it, that means it will say within our club, crossing fingers, plus he is a yamaha rider and collector.

Just have to say David helped me find my 71 tm400 that wasn't on the market anywhere and I have met him he does buy and sell that isn't illegal and he can do it I wish I could but I think I may be boardering on a being a hoarder and can't let much go.

If I want I can sell my TM now but I know I won't sell it for either a long time or not at all but think of it this way you don't ever own a bike you are only minding it for the next guy and if they don't stay with Dave then they go to someone who will enjoy them.

I don't know wether alot of you guys can comment unless you have actually met David, I know it may cheese you guys off if he sells a bike moments after he buys one but it is his decision and whoever sold the bike still got paid what they were after for it maybe not the most they could have got but they must have been prepared to sell for the price they sold it for.

Mark, don`t be concern about the money, the issue here is that its gone to a fellow that is in my club and it will be restored and raced, you will see it at the next Bannaza week end . Thats the good news.

I'm not the least concerned about the money Dave. I got my price, you got yours so all's well ;). The only thing that gets to me a bit is that every time you buy a bike, no matter what it is, you tell all and sundry that this is the bike and it'll be a keeper. Then within a week or two you invariably put it on eBay. If you just quietly went about wheeling and dealing like most of us do and didn't go through with the 'bike I always wanted' charade, nobody would give you any stick at all.

Dave, you're a likable good bloke and one of the sports real characters but you set yourself up for the sucker punch every time.

i envy you in a way Dave as i get attached to my bikes and don't want to let them go and there fore don't get to experience others models/makes.

i started riding in 77' as a 13 y/o and have never ridden the following but would like to ride one day

CR480RD 83' ( run out of time at CD7 with a swap with Shane Wilson)
an early KTM,
any montesa  (hint Ross),
any bultaco,
any ossa
any Husky (would love a ride on an Auto or 430 white tank model like big k's 1983)
a KX500
A CCM

so really i have not experienced all that the bike world has to offer. my loss. where Dave has probably ridden nearly every thing at least once !

Hoony will most likely agree...these things are somewhat rare and revered. Thats the only reason i bought it.

Firko you should have kept the DT and sold me that PE of yours. ;)

My shed never has less in it even if you clean it, mymum was mad at me because she couldn't get the mower out becuase it was behind a few bikes but my bikes are all going to a shed near you David so if you want to store a bike I could help you in September/October may help you find that keeper none of my bikes leave the shed. ;)
