OK guy's
The second Vinduro / Poker Run will be week-end of the 23rd and 24th of October 2010.
Entry forms will be available soon on The Manly Warringah Motor Cycle Inc. website.
Rockley will be the venue.
As previously advised the loop was already very good and it had been vastly improved , as of last week-end we have planned a very interesting 4.0 Km extension taking the loop out to approx. 14.0 kM
To all riders interested that do not have a current competition license you will require a recreational licence. We can provide the Rec. license but will need to know prior to the event as we purchase the rec licences from MA.
Pre entry is our preference but you can enter on the day. If you enter on the day and require a rec. license but have not previously advised us of your intensions you will not have rec. license reserved for you therefore you will not be able to ride.
Camping is available on site
Portable toilets will be available
Bring all your requirements for shelter , food and the fresh water you require for drinking.
The Camping site is available from the Friday afternoon for those that would like to set up early , but there is no riding until the event starts on Saturday morning.
“Entry forms will be available on the Manly Warringah Motor Cycle Club web site soon.”
Remember bikes must have headlights (no they don’t necessarily have to work) MX bikes with headlight fitted are very welcome
Prior to entries being received if you wish to reserve a rec. licence , email me.
[email protected] or [email protected].
I expect if we purchase a rec. license and it is reserved for a particular individual and that individual is a no show, we would still expect payment for the license . as previously stated we are only purchasing enough licences for confirmed event entrants.
The event entry fee will be $58.00 which covers both days.
The rec. licence fee will be $25.00 which covers both days.
Prizes will be presented to the three best poker hands on Saturday
Prizes will be presented to the three best poker hands on Sunday
Email me with any questions
Regards
Rob

That’s great news, so along with Drakie and myself that will be 4 Victorians coming up for this event ::)
Hopefully some more New South Welshman will support this event this time around.
The best compliment you can give organizers is to turn up.
The next best compliment you can give is to leave with a smile on your face.
If not enough participants turn up to events the organizers can become disillusioned and not create future events.
These events have taken off in Vic and are great value for money,
You can either ride your bike into the ground or just do a few laps and spend the rest of your time chatting.
Look forward to seeing you there
-
Hey Geoff
There may be other Victorian's coming , but in my post (two of the most senior Victorian Vinduro Mafia will be joining us at Rockley) i was refering to you and Drakie.
See you there on your flash KDX expansion chamber , sorry bike.

July event was really enjoyable weekend ride .
Very few organized social/fun ride/ vinduro events in NSW, so glad another is happening
Hope to see a few more riders at this event in October.
Cheers ,Steve

Oh really, I thought you had emigrated :D

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to bring 2 bikes. I was planning on riding my Husky on the Saturday and my IT465 on Sunday. Seeing that the license covers me for 2days I can't see a problem. Can I get some clarification please.
Cheers Brooksie.
-
(http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/af5/ee61/rt1enduro.jpg)
Wow, I can't wait to ride the desert section,
Hope you don't have a burning tyre smoke signal to follow.
If the first Bultaco gets lost then everyone will follow him while trying to follow the smoke trail
-
Hey Brooksie
You can ride as many bikes as you like . Just put the number they give you at the sign on , on your helmet so you can be identified by the lap recorder.
Geoff , if you get though the desert section you might just get to the beach
(http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/af5/ee61/onanysunday.jpg)
-
Cheers Shoey all the previous Poker runs I have done were a 1 day type and generally on the one bike. Definately won't be doing it on a Bultaco. Had a bad experience with Motoplat electrics back in 94 at a Poker run at Colo.
-
Hey Brooksie
It is a great riding loop and i think you will really enjoy the ride.
We run it over two days , it allows for a more relaxed riding environment and also gives the riders a oportunity to win a prize on both days.
-
Yeh generally when the riding is good, picking up some prizes is an added bonus. I've won my fair share of prizes over the years. Can't wait to stretch the legs of the Husky. I think 4th gear was about the highest I got into on the Enduro loop at CD7. Love those Wide Ratio boxes.
-

Report from the Rockley Property Working Party.
I was up on the property on the weekend with Ribbo carrying some general machinery maintenance and also some stock work as well as extending the loop.
They have had plenty of rain and the property is nice and moist and very green at the moment. All the dams are full to capacity.
We expect the moisture to stay in the ground so its looking great for the final NSW vinduro for the year.
The existing loop looks really good and the extensions to the loop have been slightly modified due to the amount of spring water in one section.
The extension is now finalised and only needs to be arrowed, this will be carried out on the Thursday and Friday prior to the event.
There is something for everyone, vintage friendly, flowing single track sections in the woods to flowing grass sections.
3.0 weeks to go , keep the entries coming.
Prizes will be awarded on both days for the best poker hands
First prize - set of tyres
Second prize - set of hand tools
Third prize - tie downs
Special prize "the iron man award" for the most loops each day.
-
Well I'm organized enough to send my entry of today.
Still got a bit of work to do on the bike though.
If my eyes look a bit glazed when I get there it will just be from a road trip with Drakie.
Looking forward to riding somewhere different and catching up with the mysterious and vacant Shoey and many others.
Who else is going?
-

The great Northern road trip is about to begin.
Just waiting on Drakie & Dangerous Dave to show and we will be on our way.
Allthough Drakie tells me yesterday I have to weld something for him before we go.
Next time I will meet at his place even if it is 1 1/2 hours in the opposite direction.
See you there.

He mentioned something about needing a new pipe and silencer. Oh, and some small frame modifications. Oh, and…
By my calculations you should hit the road some time next Tuesday. Enjoy the trip. :D

Just returned from Rockley vinduro had a great time cutting laps weather was perfect rained just after we finished on Saturday and stoped raining just before we started on Sunday. Like to thank Manly club Shoey Darren and Husky Pete for putting on a great event again also like thank the Victorians for venturing north and bringing the rain with them and then buggering off back to Victoria and leaving it here and VMXken for letting me have a ride on his pride and joy Beta 125. Damm I want one.
-
Allthough Drakie tells me yesterday I have to weld something for him before we go.
Was it a high pipe for a Montesa?? Was it? Was it? C'mon, you know you want to make one.......... :D :D
Seriously, I'm sure it was a great event and I'm very much looking forward to getting to one or two next year.
-
A great weekend for sure.

Many thanks to Ribbo, Shoey and Husky Pete for a great event.
Thanks also to the Manly club and all its workers, a great hassle free effort.
We had a good time Saturday cutting many laps on different bikes.
We heard that Sunday you had to ride in reverse, none of our bikes had a reverse gear so we opted to sit out the rain at the lodge and talk about how great we used to be.
It was a perfect weekend
thank the Victorians for venturing north and bringing the rain with them and then buggering off back to Victoria and leaving it here
Don't know what your talking about ::), we left Vic. in good weather and returned to find it still with good weather.
All the other states just like to start nasty rumours about our weather :D

We felt like the odd ones at this event as we didn't have a single IT or Husky between us.
The event seemed to be dominated by these makes.

This is getting to be a common theme at events for Dangerous Dave lately.
Well looky here, there’s an ignition wire melted onto my exhaust that’s causing all my drama's
(http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a393/gmcloa/Rockley/Rockley-11.jpg)
Once fixed, the mighty little YZ 100 could loft the front wheel into the air just like a Maico 490. (well, almost)

Thanks Ribbo, Husky Pete and Shoey for a great day up there ...
(I gather second day was even better!)
CRANKY 400s
If anyone needs a killer boot to quickspin kickstart a stubborn bigbore, just call on that big bloke Ribbo. I was amazed ....
NO CLUTCH
Thanks Pete for allowing me a window on the auto experience ... it was cool. Really nice bike indeed. Very Pelle!
MID-ENGINES
Thanks Rob for bringing the PE too. It loves to have a chat (ter) when rear-braking. Drakey says it was the weapon of choice at Rockley.
TRACK TIME
Ribbo's Rockley, where you do seven kilometres of tight, white dirt, right-angled, 1st gear turns under trees, come up onto the hill of cyclone-wrecked water tanks ... and head into the fifth gear, big-bore grasstrack.
How bloody tricky tight was the last corner of grasstrack down the bottom there! Final hi-speed run heads you into the frame cemetery. Back to tight turns, and then drop down into the pits.
As a non-Rockler, I was confounded by the tight stuff in morning (How do we do this?!) - and preferring the smaller grasstrack at very beginning past cattle gate entry, and the main grass track over out back.
But by mid-arvo, I kinda got the swing of it ... and was laughing out loud, riding the tight tree bends. I was liking it more than the grasstrack.
PILOTS
The IT crowd was on-hand and circulating in tight formations.
Steve Baker did his Harrow thing and rode flat-out all day.
Somehow Drakeford managed to find THREE different PE rides. (How un-CZ was that)
Ken brought the new-as jem of a Hodaka out from the coast.
Playing cards were dealt ... I think one guy even got three "2"s!
On a sour note, I caught one bastard trying to double straight back onto the grasstrack and ride it twice ... but I put him straight. He had a black helmet and Gasit top. Ribbo and I know who you are!
Top day ... many thanks to all
-
.... come up onto the hill of cyclone-wrecked water tanks ...
Mate, that's no water tank - it's a Soviet satellite, I'm sure of it!
-
Ribbo spilled the beans, we all know who was cutting laps on the grass track ;)
You should have been there friday afternoon the big 500 husky was cranking on the grass track, we used a full tank of fuel, still recovering from holding onto the beast, someone had to break in the virgin grass track ;D ;D
It was a pleasure to have Doggy, Geoff, Drakie, LA and GB out there, glad you all enjoyed the ride.

My first Vinduro!
Had a great weekend, the loop was fantastic in both directions, won a prize or two and the Husky powered along nicely.
Many thanks and congratulations to all that set up the event. Great organization to give us the opportunity to ride the track in both dry and wet conditions.
Great photos guys.

What a top weekend. Thanks to the Manly club, Shoey Darren and Husky Pete for putting on a great event. The tracks were awesome with a good mix of open and tight stuff. I met a few new faces and fellow Husky men Cheers Wayne, nice XC by the way. Can't wait until the next one hopefully I will bring some more of my European toys, perhaps the German ones "Hail Maico" ;D
