Has anyone ever been able to repair this problem?
Have NOT been able to find a replacement.
Unfortunately the crack goes all the way through. :)

Silly me. ;D

Yamaha jet ski manifolds look very similar.

JI would have a way of welding that! Jerry
-
I have made them with 6mm Aluminum plate and 50 or Aluminum 60mm pipe, Machine a grove into the pipe to help the rubber boot stay on.

;D ;D ;D ;D There'd be some sort of expensive special tool and special aeronautical goop sitting on the spotlessly clean Ji bench just waiting for occasions like this. ;D

Im not sure if it would work, but im in the tyre industry and we have this black "goop" that we use called securea cote...I have used on cut down sprintcar tyres,it dries soft and the sprintcars hammer their tyres and it holds up great...Food for thought....

As a tempory fix and you can keep doing it. First clean the rubber part in turps silicon the crack maybe V ing it out and then roughing up the edges to help bonding let dry, next go down to electrical supplier and ask for heat shrink it comes in different colours and sizes find a size that will fit over the square flange push the rubber boot into it but dont cut the heat shrink to short as once you heat it as the name implies it will shrink use either a gas flame or a good hot air heat gun (like a hair dryer) you can do a couple of layers if you want to give it a bit more strengh.Another way is the square flange looks about the size of a front tube cut a section of tube and push the boot into it with a bit of luck you will have to stretch the tube over the square part of the flange and a hose clamp can be used on the round end it will need a bit of fine tuning but will keep you going until a replacement is available. Good Luck

Sikaflex will fix that no worries. Its fuel resistant, really tough, stays stuck on and wont peel off. its great stuff. You can also buy it in cheaper 'Motospray' brand from Sprint Auto parts
When you put it on its really sticky and hard to smooth out but what i do is use a paint brush with a bit of paint thinners and then brush over it and it will look smooth. If you do a real good job you can make it look like its hardly been repaired.

You might have to go to their website http://www.sika.com.au/as i think there is a few different grades and i cant remember which one i use, i only know its a polyurethane adhesive/sealant. All i can tell you its not like normal silicone/silastic and it is fairly expensive.
