Thanks Maicogirl. Is it important to measure the cheese and Cabonossi as accurately as you have shown or is it possible to cut them in a more rustic, natural way for that "country farm' feel to your presentation?
Also, can you reccomend an alternative to Cabonossi for those amongst us prone to flatulance caused by Cabonossi's high spice quotient? Perhaps an unobtrusive young Mortadella?

Congratulations on your presentation MaicoGirl, but being a bit stupid I placed red cocktail onions indespreced with the green version, it that a presentation faux pas? If so, do you have any ideas for red cocktail onions and perhaps a Philadelphia cream cheese based dip that's not too spicy?

Oh Mr Firko, do not deviate from the said recipe or thread shall be locked for eternity or until Maico has a real come back, which ever comes first.

red cocktail onions indeed. next you will swapping Cruskits for Salada's and we all know that is not in the spirit of the dish.

How come the dial indicator is only showing 1.22mm with big fat sausage fingers pressing down on it? Why no Bratwurst Weisswurst or Salami? A very sub standard platter 3/10

Stop sidetracking the thread, what's Maico girls reason for scandalously not using red cocktail onions? And why no Jatz or those ever so tasty rice crackers? Without a French Onion dip, Arnotts Jatz Crackers and Bega cheese, Maico girls cheese platter ensemble' lacks a certain amount of Aussie BBQ cred and wouldn't pass Department of Sport and Recreation standards set down for cheese platters (Australian Standards:Cheese Platters and assoc. party hors d'ouvres: ch.6 :3:17:e. ).

Firko, perhaps you are being  a little harsh and not being sensitive to Maicogirls cultural heritage? Where's your empathy? If she was raised in East Germany there would likely been a paucity of available ingredients and her state appointed mother would have used party approved materials - such a multicultural assortment of ingredients as you suggest would not have been appropriate. However, should she have been raised in West Germany there may be a fervent deepseated aversion to anything 'Red' and hence the use of white vegetables only.
