Title: GMC - Noel Clarke auction
Post by: GMC on October 12, 2009, 04:35:34 pm
In an effort to expand the Noel Clarke fund I have decided to put up a GMC expansion chamber for auction.
The GMC-bay auction is simple.
You can bid by merely posting on this thread the amount you wish to pay & model you would like.
This way all bids will be open for everyone to see.
The auction will finish at midnight 31 October.
Naturally the starting price will be $1.00
Now, while someone may have the opportunity to buy a pipe for a dollar it’s going to be real embarrassing to be forwarding a cheque to the Noel Clarke fund for only $1.00, so if you have ever thought about buying a pipe from me now is the time to do it. Or if you know someone that may want a pipe but doesn’t visit the forum then let them know, maybe even bid on their behalf.
A chamber with postage normally retails for $440.00
Every dollar bid will go to the fund and I will even throw in the postage to anywhere in Aust. Hell, I will even throw in the postage to NZ if someone in NZ wants to bid. Our members from other countries are welcome to bid also but we will need to “haggle” out a postage deal.

GMC Geoff Morris Concepts is not a shop as such (although I am adding more products all the time) but a manufacturer. Most parts are built to order. The winning bidder will be required to pay within a reasonable time from the auction end and an allowance of a few weeks will be required for delivery as I won’t be able to build the nominated pipe until after the auction end.

Auction is not open to employees of GMC or their family members. Judges decision will be final; no correspondence shall be entered into.

The auction, which is a subsidiary of OZVMX-bay will be for a expansion chamber for any of the following models…..

The gate has dropped & their off.
Firko has been caught out, still pushing from the pits, he looks up in disbelief as everyone takes off without him. Many others caught out in the pits still putting their boots on, they look on in shock at the pace being set.
Noel gets good drive out of the gate but immediately tangles with Paul
Oldfart sweeps nicely around the outside of both of them, jumping into a comfortable lead.
090 lurks at the back of the pack, pacing himself for a strong come from behind finish, but has he misjudged the run-away speed of the others.
Wait, whats this, that wild & crazy young kid from Yass has dived under everyone in the second corner. Jumping into a deep rut, he has a bit of a bobble mid corner but exits well in front. He‘s eyes bulging wide, he can feel victory, he can smell victory, he can taste victory. No, it was just a bug & he spits it out.
Nathan races off with a comfortable lead, believing he has it in the bag but still wondering if he can hold it to the end. Freaky watches in awe from behind the spectator fence.
Then, out of nowhere, Shoey double jumps over the top of everyone. He safely jumps well clear of everyone in a dominant show of strength. The rest of Team Husky sit in the pits drinking Swedish beer, all quietly confident that no mere mortal could match his pace. Just like Everts at a club day, he toys with the competition.
Will their be any other dark horses in the pack?
Will any one have an answer to the great Shoemeister?
Will Firko restore a Pre 95 model?
Will Doc buy a Honda
Will Harry marry Sally?
Will any one care?
Stay tuned for more trumped up drama

Heat 2

If anybody beats our bid by even one dollar , you win a great pipe for a great cause.

We will not bid again , BUT

We will donate our original bid of $750.00 dollars to the cause.

Its a good cause and that first lot of commentary was worth it

Come on Geoff , thats got to be worth some more great commentary. Thats gold.

Shoey, clearly in front & feeling confident, flaunts his skills to the crowd with a Nac Nac. Being an older sort of guy though, he stops at the side of the track & leans his bike against the fence in order to achieve this aerobatic display. He was considering doing a “Superman” but declined for fear of his cape getting caught in the spokes.
The crowd is impressed; they punch the air in appreciation.
The atmosphere here is electric.
Hoony tries to use this atmosphere to create a spark in his 500, but it’s to no avail. He watches forlornly from the sidelines.
Oldfart stops at the side & looks down at his wheels as if something is wrong.
Pauls wheels must have fell off as he heads off home.
RossVickiCampbell  can’t find any spark either & misses qualifying. He may need to borrow something in order to make a showing in one of the consolation events.
Firko is disappointed with missing the start, he feels lousy. Lousy slaps him & walks off in a huff. He then abuses the promoter over some eligibility issues, he feels better now. Better gives him a cheeky smile.
Tony T circulates the infield on his posty bike looking to photograph some action & waves the riders by.
The promoter’s intention was to put on a C grade event & it has been attended by some very competent C graders, but some A graders have put in a good showing & are now running away with it. The promoter is surprised; it seems he is being offered the kudos for the extra ordinary efforts of others.
Will Shoey run out of fuel before the finish?
Is their no end to his showmanship?
Will his over confidence be his downfall?
We’ll have to wait for them to come around on the next lap to find out.

Geoff,
Time to step away from the keyboard. Come on, step away… Now go outside and take some deep breaths. It will all be OK… just breath slowly and deeply.

Geoff, I don't need your help to get into trouble…

You would have to ask the editor of that fine publication, but your audition copy is certainly entertaining… but is the world truly ready?

Gotta go, I think I need some deep breathing now.

Nah, I couldn't handle the pressure of having to write something 4 times a year, I'm flat out trying to keep up with my e-mails.
& Jeff may be right, the world isn't ready for me yet.

Mind you, if VMX Mag. needs someone to shoot off overseas to shoot or report on some exotic event or bike I may be able to put myself out.

Sorry Frosty, the bids are up to $750.00 allready. You need to read the first page, inbetween my babbling.

Just over 2 days to go now, will thier be any snipes to make Shoey eat his words?
