Well thats a lot shorter than i thought. Only 835mm total length which is shorter than 77 PE250 which i was told was 845mm, so it does not make sense as the PE has less travel. I have also had measurements of around 860 or 865mm for RM too but maybe theirs had a fork kit in it then??. If some other people could check theirs too tat would be great.

76 and 77 RM forks are the same length aren't they?

I have a 77 PE250B and the fork legs are longer, but they have way less travel, I can measure them tonight. The damper rods are where the travel is lost, I did compare them a few years ago when I put RM125B forks in the PE.

I think the 77 RM250B type forks had a few mm more travel, they have a different way of the axle retaining....A = screw into fork leg....B = axle goes through fork leg and has a nut on the end.

I wondered what the difference between A nd B sliders was.

So far i got this info from various people

77 PE250
lower - 346 + upper 476 = 822mm axle to top
lower - 345 + upper 500 = 845mm axle to top (big difference to above though???)

76 RM250
lower - 355 + upper 480 = 835mm axle to top

On paper the PE has 195mm travel and RM 220mm

Thanks Davey. Thats 820mm total. The 822mm measurement i got from a USA friend who measured in inches and fractions and i had to convert to mm so yours is probably more accurate.
