Things you might find at your local clearing sale
« on: October 21, 2012, 08:45:26 PM »
This is what I picked up at a local clearing sale,The guy was into many things including motorcycles  judging by the variety of stuff on offer,40 or so vintage valve radios & parts, old oil tins & enamel signs,8 or so vintage cars & heaps of parts including a Holden LC GTR turdrunner that had been brought by the family new & used as there daily driver up until about 15 years ago then parked in the shed, the hammer fell on it at 29.5K!,There were no dirt bikes but roadies,An Indian scout in kit form,A 1914 Triumph,A Gilera frame,A 850 Bimmer & a Honda 50 supercub.

T&T #1
Yamaha fold out brochure,It's bloody huge 700x600 & printed on both sides
Way cool poster, check out the crowd in the background
Pristine program from when Decoster,Robert & co came to Oz,I also scored a Hodaka & KLX250/KDX175 brochure as well as some 70s roadrace programs all in all a pretty good booty ;D

The program from the Short Circuit test series at Seymour 74, Julian Wigg on the cover by the way.
I never knew it was promoted as Eastern OZ V's England, even if that's pretty much how it was.
I'd love to know the reasoning behind that.

The pic on the International Moto CrossE programme is backwards. The T&T No1 is a great score.

I had a copy of the International Moto crosse program (I was there!) Kept it for years and then I a) gave it away b) threw it away c) can't remember. If you had the time to scan it and put it up here it would be much appreciated. Cheers Jerry

I've still got my program from the International Motocrosse Series it's got pride of place on the bookshelf with a bunch of other programs including the '75 500 USGP at Carlsbad. I've also got issue#1 of T&T plus issue one of Dirt Bike, ADB and some other mags. I never deliberately set out to collect this stuff, it's just never been chucked away thankfully. I had an almost complete collection of Sydney Showground speedway programs from 1948 through to the last meeting in April 1996 but they somehow got lost in a move a few years ago. They'd be priceless today, for their research value alone.

Is that program from the same year they also raced on a track built on the infield at Oran Park?
I went to that one.

What a great pick up, Smed!  ;D

I love looking at old programmes, just for the names in the entry list.

e.g. Gregg Hansford and I didn't know Bengt Aberg ever rode over here.  ::)
