hearing thru the grapevine that bwp format maybe different to what the other clubs do.please do not try and reinvent the wheel on your return.KIS
The folks behind BWP's foraw into vintage dirt track have some good ideas that I reckon might inject a fresh new take on the tired old club day format. Penrith club were pioneers in vintage dirt track promotion way back in 1988 and have done a great job for 20 years but a tired committee has produce an apathetic take on the sport in recent years. BWP's Tony Garrard has taken control of the track preparation and I've not seen the track in such great condition in years. Once again, that's not a dig at Denis King and Bill Pengilly (and Lenny Anderson before them) who've been doing it for years, it's just new eyes seeing the task at hand and injecting new methods.

The new plans to run American style flat track classes on the Tony Garrard revamped 400m speedway track is a brilliant stroke. Initially there was no intention of including a vintage class but after some lobbying from involved folks a vintage class will be added...probably pre 80 or evo for starters but if enough bikes turn up, a pre '75 class isn't out of the picture. In the end it's a positive thing to have another club take up the vintage cause. Competition breeds improvement so it's sure to brighten up Penriths promotions as well.

I'm not really in the know Micks, just enthusiastic to see the club returning to it's roots.
I can't see them making any dramatic changes to things because it is the final round in a 7 round series.
I should add to what Firko said about the push for a classic Flattrack/Shorttrack, as I understand it these events will be held in conjunction with the NSW Speedway Riders Assoc club days amd not another event in an already crammed list of events on a Dirt Track club day.
I think the Classic Flattrack idea is a ripper.

Ssh Al, now I'll look even more hopeless.
Glad they found the right hole Wally and all the best for a speedy recovery.
Given the sad news about Dennis I think we should give him a minute and 3 cheers at the riders briefing.
All loaded & ready to roll, still haven't heard from Carl but that's nothing out of the ordinary, he's likely to turn up with his kit anyway.
See you guy's out there.

Just for you Alison, I'll take my chatty old Kodak and try to catch the scene.
If brother Carl turns up I'll tell the local cameraman that turn one is the primary position.
BWP legend, Billy Mac still calls it, Carl's Corner.
Could be interesting, he hasn't ridden around that corner since 1974.
He only made it round about 50% of the time.
