I think there is a missing "we" there Nathan.  Come to think of that I don't recall seeing a copy of the picture from CD6 of all "us mob".

Actually, there's an extra 're' added onto the we.  :-[

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

At the moment my bikes are nagging me for new parts, attention, even a new 12x6 shed and that I'm not taking them out enough. At the same time Karen never nags, never tells me to slow down, has to wait to get new bathrooms' while the YZ125ABCCXXEG get a new house. And get this, she likes to lap score and has never told me I've drunken too much (even when I wish she would)

You tell me who sounds more like a wife  ;)   ;D

That Geoff's a passionate man alright. But XS650s? And who'd have thought they made that many of them?

74/75 TM/RMs would have made more sense to me, but hey, each to his own huh?

There is a fellow near colac that built a 1974 mx650 A motorcrosser, about 14 years ago, and he raced it at a few meeting. a very well made. and he still has it. looking at the bike it looks like a sc 500. but with a 650 twin.

You've gotta see the XS 650 collection Graeme. You're probably too young to remember but back in the late 60s/early 70s Yammy 650s were really popular. Lot's of folks who were comfortable with the traditional British twin bought them after Triumph/BSA started turning out woeful shit and eventually went broke.
The XS650 is probably the most modified of the early Japanese roadies, shitloads of them were (and still are) modified for dirt track and even motocross. Penriths Big Herbie Conlon has a few set up for dirt track, Edgar Phipps has the ex factory Shell framed machine ridden by Eddie Lawson and even our Walter has one in a Metisse frame. Once my Benelli is done I'll start gathering XS650 bits to assemble a dirt tracker based around the Trackmaster frame I recently bought from New York. It was going to be used for the Benelli but it's too rare to be chopped up as it was built for a Yammy 650. There's hardly a more bulletproof motorcycle engine ever made.

:o :o :o :o The old MX frame has the strength for the extra weight of the XS650 :o :o :o :o

I probably shouldn't be surprised, but I am :-[.

An interesting preposition. I would be sure interested in some pixies if you ever come across any Dave  8).

The ubiquitus XS650 is a mighty engine indeed. The largest collector clubs in the US, UK and Holland after the Harleys is in fact the XS650.
Interesting to note that though it contains one of the strongest gearboxes known to man- able to easily take double the standard horse power and more, the selector forks are the down fall as we have found out.
I was give 2.5 basket engines for bits recently and when I searchrd through I found  2 complete gear sets in very good condition but not 1 selection fork to be found!!
