Road bike throttle bodies.
« on: September 06, 2009, 10:13:14 pm »
OK, so its not Vintage and its not anything like MX - but there are plenty of people out there with bits stashed under benches...

I'm looking for a set of throttle bodies (the carbs for EFI bikes) from a ZX12, early GSXR1000, or GSXR1300.

The important details are:
Each butterfly must have its own shaft (not one or two long shafts joined).
The butterflies must be at least 42mm in diameter.

Not worried about any of the other details, inclusions or so-on.

This type is right - see the little linkages between each butterfly: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/gsxr-1000-throttle-body-fuel-injection_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem25563064c3QQitemZ160359802051QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

This type is wrong - see how the lingakge is only between the middle two TBs and they sort of look like a pair of twin carbs:

If you think you can help, then give me a yell and we can work it out for sure.

Nathan.

Edit: I have a set of R1 TBs that are no good to me because there's two long shafts, rather than four short ones. Will happily sell or swap for the right type.

Someone who will ship to Australia.

Yes, I know that there are ways around this, but time is running low....

Its a B23E. Should be good for ~140kW at the rear wheels once the long rod, light piston bottom end is built. Probably be limited to ~120 on the stock bottom end - which is still more than 99.99% of Datsuns.  ;D

B23E?  Isn't that the donk out of the 242GT?  I think Robbie Francevic used to like turbo charging those.  ;)  I have seen a worked 242GT Turbo blow a Porsche 911 turbo into the weeds.

The gentleman driving the Porsche didn't think it was very funny.
