RM500 donk welded

was looking at purchasing a RM500 donk when we finaly got some pics its had a weld job on the cases around the clutch actuating arm, hes trying to tell me thats common in all these motors  has anyone ever known this to even have happend?

TOO MANY TIMES it was a bad design and desparately in need of a case saver from the factory. 86-86 RM125/250 top chain roller would always wreck cases too

Pretty common on all those 80's Suzuki's, I have seen some pretty bad repairs as well....be carefull....did you ever contact that guy in Florida that had a motor for sale?....or did you miss the boat?

yes I did at the time 20/20 hind sight, he was asking a kings ransom plus shipping  :'(esp when looking at 2 other donks and a whole bike, still being got back to on 1 donk and will continue negotiation on the whole bike after xmas, thanx Davey

I will have to check my 500 to see if it has had any repair there I know a lot of my pe's have damage there from a chain derail or to big a front sprocket.

I have been struggling to find some nice tm400 cases I have some that will do but I wouldn't mind finding some good ones a bit non existent now it seems.
