TRICK 350 XL
« on: October 22, 2007, 12:26:00 pm »

Brian, the guy I bought the Hindall Ducati from in the USA has the Vincent Framed XL350, described and shown below, for sale. I've cut and pasted his complete ad. Other than posting the ad, I know nothing about the bike. If you're interested, contact me at [email protected] and I'll pass your email along to Brian. It looks like a unique bike to me ..................................

Hey guys,
I have a very cool, Vincent framed XL350 for Sportsman, AHRMA MX or CC.

I am told the Vincent frame is very rare and patterned after the CZ and Husky factory Cross Country bikes of 1974 (Just like the CZ400 that Lackey rides)...the welds on this frame are awesome !
I bought the bike partially restored (but in pieces) from a guy in Texas in 2000. It sat in my garage until 2005 when I brought it up to Tim Taylors to get it up and running.
Well, it sat at Tims without being touched until September when he moved to Montana.
This has never run since I got it until the other day. The bike is now running but smokes quite a bit - I have only ridden it up the street and back.....clutch works well, shifts fine, but smokes, dont know if the rings are stuck or seals are bad, motor was supposed to be fresh when I bought it.

Heres the good:
Freshly painted frame - before I got it
Rebuilt Fox Factory shox - by Tim
Freshly painted MR tank (of course, CR tank will fit)
Nice XR seat
Nice Elsinore 250 wheels
Good Dunlop tires
Elsinore 250 front end
Nice Elsinore fenders
Good chain and sprockets
Good cables and levers
New throttle and cable
Renthal bars
Custom Aluminum sidepanels
Cobra ISDE Muffler
New air filter

The bad or questionable:

Motor was supposed to be fresh when I bought it 8 years ago and although it starts right up, it smokes pretty good like either the rings are stuck or the seals are leaking or both.

Figure a top end (if needed) with a Weisco 412 piston, new seals, guides, etc would run $500 or so

I have $2500 in it and would like to get my outlay back as I have 2 other project I need to finish.

Are any of you interested before I put it on ebay ?

I'm thinking......................   ;D
Nice looking bike, but I wonder how it would handle. That engine looks a loooooong way towards the back.

Tony that's easy, simply rework the motor to provide the desired neddies then sit on the bars and steer with the rear wheel..jeez I thought it was obvious! ::)

I suppose with a little extra travel at the rear the swingarm pivot and front sprocket location may have come into consideration but I'm sure little tweaking of the front geometry could sort out any issues (if there are any). The frame looks really nice, be interested to know what it weighs. The bike itself kinda look along the lines of the old MR175..I liked them too 8)

With my weight over the rear wheel, wheelies would be no problem. But apparantly, you also need skill to control said wheelie. Herein lies the problem.....................  :-\
