1983 honda cr125 running problem

i got it to start today for the first time in at least 10 years i clened the carb and all jets insid of it and set the idal screw 1 in a half out and when i start it it runs at a very high idel i turn the screw all the way in and it is still very high enythang els i should try?

The air srew needs to be 1& half out this is the small srew on the right hand sid of the carby.
The ide srew is on the lefthand side with the spring behind it try winding this one out your idle should drop.

If turning the idle screw out counter clockwise doesn't reduce the rpm, you have an air leak somewhere.

Get pipe plugs for the intake and exhaust, then put an air chuck in the spark plug hole and pressurize the engine with about 5psi of compressed air while spraying soapy water around the base gasket, reed block and the crank seal on the ignition side. If there is a leak, the soapy water will bubble up at the point of the leak.

i got it it was the 2 ports were ther exhaust came out of thanks for the help please close this thread
