were can you get forks re cromed in vic and whats the approx cost

not too sure about Vic,
up here in brisbane RAD hardchrome can do the job for around $140 a leg with,
yes! you guessed it, HARD chrome.
i had a set done a few years back when chrome was a bit cheaper and am still happy with the job they did.

That's a good price. Tough to find anyone even willing to do it here, typically over $350 if you do(but shipping to Oz and back would kill the savings). I had a set of forks diamond polished, since they weren't too bad it worked great.

However, most of the external spring Maico forks anymore are pitted bad. I know that some use the Stainless Tubes as replacements, but to me I would rather have the correct tubing.

We now use Westrn Grinding in Adelaide , they are around the same price but grind the legs between centres , instead of centreless grinding , which can give a few problems being unround sometimes.

I use Diamond Hard Chroming in Enfield, Sydney  ((02) 9642-0513) I got my Ceriani legs done for $350 or so. Very happy with the result.

Diamond Hard Chroming did my 35mm Marzocchi's for $280 which include a slight straighting (about 1mm).
