Graeme....I feel that I've been a part of the problem with my overly big photo files. It's largely my fault as I'm a bit unsure on how to make them any smaller.
As a short term quicky to gain back some space, why not delete the posts in the joke section after say a week as once you've read a joke.....well that's it's life over and in reality it has FA to do with what the forum is about anyway. Deleting much of the idle banter after a while would also free up a lot of space but the problem here is deciding what stays and what goes and finding the time to do it.
It's a bit unfortunate that the photo posting is not allowed any more as I reckon they give the forum a life and help explain the particular thread...e.g. the Budget bikes thread wouldn't have half of its impact without the accompanying photos. I had a ring around to the GOBs this morning and we'd be prepared to contribute a bit of cash if that's what it takes to enlarge the bandwidth. With the ever increasing membership and activity I think it's inevitable that you'll have to double the horsepower more sooner than later.

Most forums have 'life time member' ,'contibributor' or 'member' staus, usually sections such as classifeds/trade are blocked unless you contribute. If there was a once only contribution for lifetime status I'd be up for that, rather than have to do it every year.

Quote:Running a bit short of disk space, so I am disabling attachments. From now on to display images you'll need to post them somewhere else first, eg on one of the many image hosting websites.

Just the paperclip symbol attachments are now un-useable  :)
cheers

Graeme M-
I don't mind being a NOVICE  if you would like to delete all my posts except the most recent 10 pages and the first page set in August 2007. Might read a bit strange in some topics ,but ya get that.  ::)
Hope this will help with more room  ;D
cheers
