Nice restore (despite shocks on upside down  ;D) but, yeah, too pricey $3200-$3600 is what a nice TM125 is worth

Cyclegod, $A3600 = $NZ4500 or so right now so maybe it is in the ballpark? Nice resto.

I think the price is reasonable, there is no way you can get a dunger and build it to that level for that money....god knows I have tried.

I think the only problem is the market for this bike in NZ is probably limited to a hand full of people and it is a 125.... TM BIll

but it is in NZ. which means it's a bugger to purchase (anything on tradeMe is a bugger to purchase) and then you have the problem of getting it here.
It turns into a headache - regardless of which way up the shocks are!

I just didnt think they were / are worth that much.....

You have to consider what it would cost you to duplicate it, dropping grand into wheels, grand into motor, paint, chrome forks, shocks, cables, on it goes....you get up to $4400 in the bike without drawing breath or taking original purchase cost into account.

Whether it is TM125 or RH250 generally the bills stack up plenty fast, the only problem is getting your money out of a 125 which tend to be harder to get good money for.

Conclusion, you would be better off relatively restoring scarce desirable ex works bikes, but if you just want the best TM125 in the world it is worth every $$$$.

$4000 roll up and ride or $4000 wheel away and hide it's all horses for courses. It's approaching the top end of the price spectrum but it definately nice and I assume gas shocks account for the upside downs rears but to buy a bike already completed means I'd miss the fun of the hunt and the satisfaction of knowing I built (resurected) it myself ;) maybe that's why I never sell as I simply become too attached to my investments..it's not the money (or lack of :D) moreso for me it's all about the time/effort I've invested and the satisfaction I get from riding or even just sitting and looking my final results 8) (which incidently will never remain final until I can ride no more) ;) this way works for me, for others it's easier to buy finished bikes outright but hopefully at the end of the day we have all had the same fat time no matter how we got there! ;D

too true as I said it probably makes more sense buying them finished but journey is victory.

for me finding the bits and messing about beyond common sense is part of the process.
