Barn find DT360
« on: March 25, 2009, 08:05:15 pm »
Just picked up a DT360 today for near nothing. Its complete minus exhaust, sprocket cover and blinkers. Was parked in a chook shed in the early 80's with 11,000k's so looks good for a resto. Can anyone tell me what year it is? Vin is 446-011XXX. Anyone know if the DT250 parts such as exhaust and sproket cover are interchangeable and if anyone has these parts let me know! The motor turns over with no grinding and has spark so she will be a runner with an exhaust.

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Nice pick up. I'm 98% sure the exhaust and cover interchange, and most other things. The c/cases and the clutch side cover don't swap. The DT had prevision for the Omniphase balancer but wasn't sold with it fited (despite publicity etc etc). The right side of the DT and MX have a bulge in the cover and cases to allow for the balancer.

Can you post a pick of the flywheel side minus sprocket cover? Thanks

Nope, didn't get it.

Will the 75 DT400 exhaust fit its looks the same:

That will be $100 by time you get it from the US - and not particularly good. Try your local wrecker first. I'm sure if he carrys old stuff he'll have a 250,360 or 400 that you can try.

Yeah was thinking more to see if the 400 one fits so if I come across one local I will snap it up. I learnt the hard way buying pipes from the usa!

hey Zorroz,
i have a pipe for the DT360 you can have for postage costs and it's in Brisbane if thats any help.
its had a bit of a repair in the header section previous to me and the chrome heatshield is missing, so it won't be a concourse thing but it will help with getting the bike mobile.
i'll take and post a pic over the weekend when i have a bit more time.
this ones from the ebay add when i bought it, so this is the pipe in question.
