Here are a few pics a friend shared with me from his personal collection.  The team was BP Racing and think they had three HL's in their stable.  Can you guys guess who number 29 is?

Darn Firko,

I knew you would probably be the one to get it first.  This may have been the CMC Golden State series or the 4 Stroke World Championship.  I'll find out which soon.

yep i guessed right as well, nice to see Gally on a 4 stroke, awesome photos thanks for posting them. HLs look like NVT production bikes. What forks are on Galls bike, Simons ???

I do believe those are Simons with white paint on Gall's HL.  I have some more photos to scan and post later.  I will also try to get more info on the bikes.

I reckon this would be about 1980 when Gally and Gunter did the Golden State series and the Bell Moto 3 had just come out. There was a story in Motocross Action on the 2 of them.

Are you saying because they are HL replicas that we shouldn't admire them or take note of them.  I would think 90% of "HL's" in the world today are from the Pro-Fab gigs or replicas of the replicas.  True HL's have and will always have the greatest monetary value it doesn't mean the replicas don't have "value", monetary or otherwise.  If I misread your statement I apologize in advance.

One of the other riders is American Danny Turner.

Mine has a huge amount of 'otherwise value', like what it has taken in time and effort to make it a quality build.
Plus for me the replica chassis is preferable given the quality of Geoff's work. There are a lot of nice things you get with the GMC kit that are an improvement.
