Hi,

Does any one know if you can change the ball to tapered bearings and if so who sells them.

Thanks Chris.

XL250/350 use the same weird size steering head bearings as 74 CR250M, very hard to find, EBAY seller jastco  sells tapered steering head bearing kits for the early XL and CR Honda's, have a look at ebay listing 280301332381 they cost $92USD posted, not cheap but correct, I will be buying a set later in the year for my XL250KO ;D

Bought two sets from local bearing suppliers, some time ago. had to take am XL350 K1 frame and triple assembly there. made the match and paid about AUD $ 40.a set. No sorry I do not have the bearing codes still and that bearing supply company has now gone. But worth a try if one is about.

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

the Link book list them for 74 onwards for 350 and also lists them for 73 (K1) XL 250 to 78 model as all the same part number but this part number is different to the 350. they do not list them for the 72 KO model. are the 72 250 bearings different to the 73 onwards 250 and the 74 onwards 350?

i need some for 72 XL 250. can any one compare 72 genuine bearing part numbers to the 73 genuine pair numbers?

Does someone have the sizes in mm? The bearing numbers are almost certainly 'specials' for Honda...
Pyramid Parts allow you to select by size as well. By the way, contact Nik at Pyramid about the mis-fitting bearings! Nik gives excellent service and will almost certainly send you the correct ones and let you keep the ones you have.

Howdy Joe. Being an Australian Pyramid Parts Reseller does that mean I/we can purchase tapered steering head bearing kits off you.

You certainly can!

This is the deal:
I only stock items that groups of bike riders have made repeat purchases of (steering bearings are not one of those.... they seem to last a long time).
I get a reseller's discount (based on the amount I order over time - it's a pretty good discount at this point in time).
I pass most of this discount on to my fellow enthusiasts.
Postage is split between all orders at a time and local postage is added to the price I charge.
I prefer orders for more than item and or orders from more than one person at a time - helps everyone save interantional postage.
When the parts arrive, I repackage and post them out locally.
Orders from Pyramid are usually here within 4 to 5 days, adding local postage means you get your bits in around 6 to 7 days.

I suggest you check if the parts you are after on the Pyramid website for availability and price and then contact me for a quote. Invariably this is a good saving. Occasionally, the saving is minimal (and probably not worth it for the one item), but as it helps increase my turnover, the discount increases -  which is passed on of course next time you order from me.

No, this is not a business (I work full time to pay my bills), but it helps pay for my hobby :) and makes my own spares needs cheaper as well, of course...

So try it.
