Yes, I'm in the US. You see a few newer KTMs around here but not many of the older ones. In fact, this is by far the oldest one I've seen in person.

This one is a single plug with a compression release to the right of it. According to one site I found, the sticker on the steering head would tell me if it's a 420 or 490 but the printing is mostly worn off.  ::)

Thanks for the riding tips! Makes me feel somewhat more comfortable with the idea of trying it out. I need to replace the rear tube and if it wasn't raining and 44 degrees I'd try riding it today. Guess I'll have to wait, dang i!

Okay, so I ran all the engine, frame and cylinder head numbers and if the internals are stock, what I have is a 420cc KTM not the 495cc. Damn, and I was sort of hoping for the bigger one, although I probably have no business on either.
