Heres the side shot the fronts a bit low I need to replace the fork seals and the bikes dirty from the ride what do you all think is it ok for a budget entry point vmxer???

i've got a nice side shot but the image is to big and I cant post it I dont know how to fix this problem any help much appreciated.

Go into Paint or paint shop or sim, go to 'image' go to stretch/skew resize, save, post.

I just love those old DT1s. Looks good Jimson. I like the side cover/number plate treatment. I used '75 Maico side covers on my DT1 racer to get a similar effect. It fills the gap nicely. What seat are you using? Did young Tom ever finish his Honda 175?

G'day Firko your DT1 looks good. The seat base on mine is a early 80s XT seat base I cut the plastic base to fit and then fiberglassed over it.Toms XL went to live at Nathans as a part swap for a 1981 CR125.The side cover on the DT1 was made from a alloy street sign that and the seat base was scored from the local tip.

Those street signs come in handy. Every time I see one on the ground I scoop it. You never know when you're going to need a bit of nice alumimium. We'd be buggered without the tip too. You never know what you'll find there. Keep the DT1 thing going. They're good honest bikes that can be built for chicken feed if you're smart. If I didn't have so many projects on the go right now I'd be getting my DT1 back to how it looks in the picture. It never looked that good again after I began racing it.

Yes, but you can get a day licence for ~$50.
We're a bit out of the way, but if you make the trip up, there's a couple of spare beds and a warm shower at Nathan's Home for Old Yamahas. The Boss has already extended her approval.

Thanks Nathan I'll let you know whats happening mate.Firko talk about chicken feed the DT1 has been cheap the front end forks triple tree and wheel was $50 at CD2 repair manual second hand book shop $15 rear nobby tyre was used twice buy a sponsored rider $20 the front tyre was bought with gift vouchers birthday pres.The bike has a race history the motor has been ported to the max the work was done back in the 70s by a bloke called Jimmy Smithurst he owned a enginering shop in Taren Point N.S.W he had the contract to make conrods for victar lawn mowers if anybody has any knowledge on this bloke could you please  P.M me thanks.

hehehe ...we had a habit of stopping very quicky everytime we saw someone had run over those plastic fire hydrant markers, once you burnt the plastic off you would find a lovely airgcraft grade ali,minum tube, just happended to be the same diameter as a silencer, i think all my road racers had a set and in the end we even made a box of spares up and sold them off at the track. perfect............
