From my limited understanding:

When Dutton was elected leader of the opposition I thought Labor was given a free election win or two.
Albanese managed to make himself so unpopular, I thought the election was Duttons to lose.
Lose it he did: Apart from those with investments in commercial real estate, who thought attacking “work from home” was a good idea? Lying about building Nuclear Power stations was also fraught with danger. Those that believed it were split 50/50ish in support/opposition, and half of them would have been disappointed. The rest of us just thought he’d lost his mind.

Wow, about 60% of voters want more immigration, continued housing shortage, more crime, more inflation, more woke stuff, more pollution, more clever indoctrination starting at Kindy all the way till Uni and mass sporting events. I rest my case.  :o :o :o :o

If there was a subject to study in right wing propaganda and specious talking points, you'd have a doctorate.

You and Andrew Bolt need to buy yourselves a couple of mirrors and look long and hard into them for the first time in your miserable lives.

Hi Paul, in response to your post. I am happy with my life. I have done many things other people can only dream of. I raced or ridden in every continent but Africa with a positive mix of achievements and experiences. Lucky to share 4 kids with my wife of 36 years and all 4 have a degree. I would not call that miserable at all. Business is also doing well. As far as your labelling goes, all could not be further from the truth. I am a conservation green person (not a woke wierdo greenie LOL). My hobby is to preserve and breed endangered native species up to class 3. Yes, I am stuck with the old values and I believe they could be fashionable again in the not-so-distant future. My energy comes from the roof, the water from the tank, vegetables fruit, fish, eggs, and meat from my own land. If that makes me a right-wing propagandist, I am happy to live with that. I would not swap with you LOL.

Hi Everyone,
That is not nice at all . :'(

Yes did seem a bit over the top.
It is true to say that I don't post on here very often but that doesn't mean I am not following what is going on.

The forum has gradually declined over the last few years like other forums that I follow and this is my humble opinion that I will share here:

The post that we three are referring to is an excellent example of why forums are doing exactly that, declining!

Obviously we all share similar passions or we wouldn't be looking here but can't we all get along? My only requests are please proof read what you are about to post and put yourself in whoever's shoes (or riding boots ) you are criticising?

I do love the trotting out of the old chestnut of "The voters got it wrong!" again.
They only get it wrong when your side loses, eh?
You and Andrew Bolt need to buy yourselves a couple of mirrors and look long and hard into them for the first time in your miserable lives.

Show us on the doll where the bad Labor government hurt you.
And please, enlighten us all as to exactly how the alternative was going to solve all of those propagandist, right wing, gaslighting talking points.

Go on Boomer, we'll wait while you finish your banal whining.

Agreed 100%
It's OK to lie and cheat if you are a conservative, if you push back to redneck critics people call it nasty. Like Trump, can't take criticism. The first post in this thread was nastier than the reply to it. Either ban political comment or give either side equal treatment. There is always another point of view.
Some good entertainment is to watch SkyNews coverage of the election night 😂 Great viewing, laugh all night.
Lib/Nat losers need to admit they got it wrong, they got soundly defeated. Keep up the good work blaming everybody else, the way they are going they will never get into Gov again.

I agree with your thoughts 500Fool. Wasp set the tone of the thread with his opening post. Weather he meant it or not, his post was offensive.*

I found the thread boring until pmcburney chimed in with, what I thought was a humorous and spicey addition.

Pokey then kept it interesting with some thoughtful additions, before the hype died down.

I don't do Facebook but if this conversation was happening on a motorcycle forum, it must have been chaos over there at the time. :)

*No offence meant, Wasp.

The internet is a great platform for information though I wonder at its usefulness with society. Communication relies on many factors to achieve correct comprehension and removing one component results in less true information passed on. Telephones again not so great though better than mere text. Not all are born to be writers.

A few words of wisdom passed to me by an elderly gent many years ago seem appropriate with the internet.

"Complaining about something you read is like choosing to step in a dog turd when you could have walked around it."

A few subjects I feel never end well in a discussion and if possible avoided. Religion politics and which oil should I use.

Politics is filth and this election had been run and done. Pleasing all constituents will never occur. We can choose to let the politicians argue scream and yell and be the dog turds in life and we can choose to see and know they exist and walk around them less we become what we despise.

I thought this election was done and dusted. Most new comers backed the team with the free bilby and free Visas. That was predictable. We do not have a direct democracy here in Australia; therefore, it does not matter much if you vote for the free bilby or the free bunny. The team with the bunnies is now quickly transforming itself to hand out bilbies at the next election as well. No more (or far less) free chocolate bunnies they will use as bait. Does it matter? NO.Its now all about spending, growing at all costs or hit the wall. That will apply to both parties. We are trapped. What does it have to with VMX ? Lots. Just compare the scene from 1990 to now……
