TORQUE ENGINEERING

Can someone on here please help identify this exhaust?  It is looking for a new home.

Could be Kawasaki F11 as the others at the time had the exhaust run on the right side.

Hi Sleepy,

To be honest, I was thinking Suzuki? There are a few RL 250s in my shed and they have the exhaust port on the right but my memory tells me that was changed for the RL from the other side?

It will be a Trail bike from the early seventies as that was popular back then and you could getaway with the extra noise. The TS Suzukis had the exhaust run on the right side as did the DT/RT Yamahas and the MT250 Honda. I can't think of any Euro bikes that had pipes like that and most had basic chambers anyway so for me it is Kawasaki as that is definitely a right side pipe. Pull up a google pick of an F11 and you will see the pipe layout.

Totally agree with Sleepy, Likely be Kawasaki F7/F11 and the port size will tell you what CC. From memory the only Suzuki which had LH pipe was the baby TS90. Possibly its a Euro though more likely to be Japanese to have aftermarket pipe.

I remember the go for the DT3 Yamaha was to buy a DT2MX head an RT3 Carb and a Bassani pipe and they would pick up about 10 MPH top seed but way to loud when you had the throttle open riding in suburban Brisbane. Maybe that why we are half deaf now.

OK, so I have had another look and there aren't any weld on mounts or part numbers anywhere.

Maybe your app has a list of exhausts that don't have part numbers?

So do you mean only the pipes made after 1976 were stamped? Does that mean that this pipe must pre-date 1976? Perhaps it is for a Bighorn?

The pipe on the kawasaki is not a Torque Engineering pipe. No '76 is just a general thing but based on what i have seen with pipes on ebay etc, it seems that the factory only started putting the part numbers on them when they were building pipes in the late 70's and for bikes that were current then. Aslo the heat sheild attachment method seems to change in later years. Early made ones had welded on nuts and used screws, later ones have welded on studs and use lock nuts. This is how my pipe is done. Its simple, if it has part number, then i can look it up in the Torque Eng. books and ID it. No part number then your stuck wit ID'ing it purely by sight and test fitting.
