Kayaba Forks in Honda's??
« on: September 15, 2008, 06:29:25 pm »
Hi, Can anybody here tell me if Kayaba forks were ever fitted to Honda's or used by any Honda teams?

I just bought these forks; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140267064468 from Rodger Maud, with the intention of fitting them to my '80 CR125 , from what I can remember Honda only ever used Showa forks....?

Hmmm i reckon this is one for Shane or Magoo.

i do know that Honda used them around mid 80's on the 1985 CR500RF though as i have one with Kayabas standard.

The '82 model CR's came out with Kayaba and then they went back to Showa in '83.

ahh so you bought those forks ;D well done. too expensive for me though. in USA they were sold through suzuki and DG. There was actually a suzuki part number for those forks and the aftermarket KYB shocks.

It looks like the Hallman Suzuki thumper on the DRM400 thread has a set of those KYB forks.
