I think PE175 is the same ??

http://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/model/2182

They work fine but you need to remove the boss from the sprocket. I use a belt sander for that job.

Racking my brain here, I bought one a few years back from a bike shop that was for either an Aprillia or Cagiva 125 that ran a water cooled Rotax engine. I put in in a ATK 260 LQ. Don't know if that runs the same shaft as the early 250 air cooled motors.

If all fails Keith at American dirt bikes http://www.americandirtbike.com/atkparts.htm will have them. All ATK air cooled 250's up to '95 ran the same Rotax engine as the Can am's.

Ended up with a sprocket from an 88-91 RM250. Same as the PE175 mentioned. Slides on no drama. $22 from the local Suzuki shop.

But yes there is a boss on the new sprocket. To my way of thinking if you run it with the boss facing out then the sprocket will align and run as if the boss wasn't there. Downside is that the bolt and washer won't go on as far but it seats fine regardless. Not saying the boss does not need to come off but just can't think of what could go wrong as is?

Now onto the rear wheel that is missing a drum brake backing plate spacer meaning the plate binds and locks up the wheel when the axle is tightened. Grrrrrr..............

Don't think Mr Suzuki will solve that one for me.

Good to see you got the fever back Bern. I smell another vintage Can Am appearing in SEQ sometime soon :-)

Rotax's are my thing Hoony,  currently I would have 6 x 125cc engines (2 type 124 and Can Am MX 6)  2x Type 128 engines 1x type 129 and 2 x type 256 250cc twin engines here. The Aprilia GP engines were all derived from these motors.

Type 124 (MX6 engine with alternate clutch cover and cylinder reversed later used water cooled cylinder)

Water cooled cylinder kit for Type 244 (250cc)

Type 128

Type 129

Type 256

All use 2 type splines 18 or 20T

Tony, not hard to start a fever when your OCD. Last time I fired up the Sonic she seemed low on comp and maybe a bit smokey. I ratted the fuel tap off it to get the boys 90 ready for the last ride. Now that they're doing pee wee tracks at the VMX there's more incentive.

Removing the boss allows you to fit the lockwasher with the standard nut. It's there for a reason........
