YZ 250B restore

I want to keep it in my collection, but all my bikes get ridden. I don't know that it will be a full time racer though, just go and show it at the local VMX meetings.

I have a RT3 and that kick start looks to be the same as the one for the YZ.

I have a '79 IT 175 that is almost done, just having a hassle with the front wheel and waiting on a headlight on EBAY. Will get it out and take a few pics just now.

Use the kick starter from the DT2MX it swings out unlike the dt or rt ones , stronger than the YZ one too .

Question time: I know that the old DID rims were problematic, particularly the front rims, prone to cracking. If I put new Excel rims on the bike, would I be doing the bike an injustice?

If it's going to be a show queen and not ridden I would use did rims .
If it's a racer and show bike I would go with excel rims for safety and peice of mind just my opinion.

Steve - both my wheels were cracked - replaced them with silver SM Pros - cheaper than Excels and look Ok also

when your local guy sold you the swingarm covers and washers did he also have the 2 bearings sets and the steel bush pivots that make up each sides set ? if so can you PM me price and info.

I believe that I have all the bits and bobs for the swing arm. The thrust bearings, never seen those before, the needle rollers and the new seals for the covers.

I got the paint back this morning. Will sort and take pictures over the weekend. I think the next step is redo the swing arm bearings and I can start assembling the frame. Oh, and I get the shocks back tomorrow, I am hoping that they look mint. Will be posting a few pics this weekend.

I am not going to post pictures, the paint is all wrong and it has to go back. The guy didn't do anything I asked and did everything wrong. Just don't get good help these days. ( I hate fighting with people, especially around doing things right.
