This information is on the crated AE430 on display at the Husqvarna museum in Sweden and apparently explains everything (if you can read Swedish).
A translation of the above sign:
1988
Husqvarna
430 AE USThis motorcycle, model year 1988, was produced on 2 October 1987, and sent from the Husqvarna factory in Ödeshög [Sweden] to Kansas City, USA, on 13 October 1987.
The motorcycle remained unsold and was stored among others in a large surplus stock in California. Hans Appelgren, who was the Husqvarna distributor in Australia [Husky Imports], bought all the unsold motorcycles in the 1990s and shipped them to Emu Plain, New South Wales, Australia. The motorcycle remains unsold in its original crate and was shipped to the Husqvarna museum in 1997. It was donated to the museum by Hans Appelgren.
The marking on the case was mislabeled with model 510 TE (TE ZHU 510 JSO ...) which may be the reason why the motorcycle remained unsold in the United States.
