Yes Mick, there will be age based results and awards for Pre78. Age groups in Pre78 at this point are not an MA "class" so may not get MA medals

There are too many classes already, even after the split.
Would rather see less classes, and more or slightly longer races, subject to track suitability.
Age racing is great, but should probably be kept where it is in pre-75 to avoid burdening down the awards table and extending the already-packed presentation marathon :)

disagree - presentation issues aside age racing is the way to go - to keep the 20 year olds away from the old farts like me  ;D - and give over on the longer races as well  ;D

they wont stay away from you, because they will be in the Open class's as well.
if it was your son's you'd have a WOW of a time, bar to bar with them. .  :D
Best is in the West !!

Presentation will be streamlined, to avoid dragging on. Age racing is what keeps the sport going. There is room for all but the stats show where the numbers are.

As stated my reply 33, there will be age classes in Pre78. May not be split up same as Pre75, actual age brackets to be decided

Modern MX
At the recent Conondale GP (October 10th) the "Vets" had a full grid.
Of course "Vets" was "over 35"! If I was 36 I'd probably happy (ecstatic!?!), but I'm over 50.
There seemed to be plenty of "older" riders and I think the cut off for "Vets" could be raised a bit, or a second class created.

Modern Supermoto
At the Aussie champs in June, there were plenty of 50+ competitors for a class. An under subscribed 45-50yo class meant they were combined. 45 is still a long way from 35, especially in MX with 20 min motos.

You don't stop riding because you get old. You get old because you stop riding.

I agree that pre 78 doesn't need age groups..from the last 4 nats i have been to..there aren't enough pre 78 entries to support age group racing..
