Installing YSS PD valves

I'm rebuilding the forks on my 84 KX250 and have some pd valves from Walter to install.

I'm assuming the pictures below are the correct procedure.  The valve goes into the sleeve (with the spring to the top) and the sleeve fits neatly inside the top of the damper rod.  The spring then goes on top of the valve.






My questions are:
- the spring is the same diameter as the sleeve, but doesn't cover any of the holes in the valve, is this ok?
- the damper rod has 6 (7mm) holes in it, do I need any more?
- I assume I have to reduce the length of the spring spacer by the same amount as the length of the spacer?

I'm going to use 10W fork oil at the original volume (550ml), with compression adjustment in the middle and go from there.

Are the two lower holes covered by the bottoming cone? If they are you'll need to drill two more.

I'm pretty sure the specified hole size to drill is 8mm. This will make a difference

Use 5w oil to soak the braking bumps........
