Sean at SOS Suspension is definitely still in business and will gladly do your VMX Suspension.
He recently rebuilt an 83 KX500 shock for me and he is very helpful.

First words from Sean - Yes I specialise in this old stuff !!
He had my business from then.... unlike TEKNIK that told me I didnt have a DRZ400 so its going to be expensive and slow....  :o

Sean at SOS - Unit 7, 9-11 Abel Street Penrith South Ph: 02 47325533.

Thats strange Dave. I swear i was talking to you at Teknik just the other day

Never had a problem with Terry, rang up and ordered a seal head for the rm465, no problems, in the post and easy to talk to.
BUT
Talk about old mate in SA sir Walter at YSS or Suspension Shop and you have a store of no customer service.
Get home from Bathurst last month and one YSS shock has leaked on the floor of the toy hauler. Speak to a local suspension guy who does Liam's suspension and sent off the shocks. He pulls them apart and rings old mate Sir Walter. After speaking to him for a short while Sir Walter states that nobody to work on the YSS shocks and he won't sell him the seals.
So i ring Sir Walter and mention Pete Rindlisbacher and Dean Burt who are mates and Sir Walter says yes i know them, but no you are not alowed to buy the seals. Must have watched Seinfield Soup Nazi Episode. Sir Walter is the only one who can work on the shocks and nobody else.
Rang Maxwell Motorcycles who bought Les Richters VMX Unlimited and they didnt have any parts. Unbeknown to me they also rang Sir Walter asking if they could buy the seals as Les had originally done the shocks and put them on the Maico i purchased. Well the conversation didnt go too well and Sir Walter even hung up on the people who purchased Les's business, what a way to run a business.
So if you want some really great over the top customer service that will blow you away with the friendly nature of the person on the end of the telephone give Sir Walter a call. As i said to my mate Pete Rindlisbacher that was a waste of 5 minutes and money spent ringing Sir Walter.
Im looking to buy something else now and not NOT definetely NOT YSS.

Cheers

fred99999au posted a criticism of a well known suspension business. As far as I can tell it reflects his experience and he has suggested based on that experience that others may not wish to deal with that business. Several others have noted their positive experience with that business, while others have also found fault. I have no view on the business however we do not see anything offering their point of view about these matters.

Given the varying opinions I think readers might best draw their own conclusions.

All of that said, I don't want this thread now to degenerate into a general sledging of other businesses. We have fred's opinion, some other opinions, and readers are free to consider what's been said.

Thread closed.
