« on: August 25, 2007, 05:06:38 pm »
hi
can pistons be ordered for these engines or do you have to troll through ebay and other listings like i have to with my 1979 yz400f.it looks like you can get 250s but i already have a 1973cr250,looking for 350+ to go in my antig slider frame.
cheers

Might need to cut some holes in the buggers?? you know for reed valve transfer 7 port as opposed to 5 port thing non reed valve thingo stuff....please correct me if wrong. Tim
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I wouldn't assume it! Even with holes cut for the reed valva inlet I would measure.

My experience has mainly been with RD's, RZ's, Banshee's and LC's and with these there is a lot in common but enough differences with skirt height, weight and dome to be carefull.

Measure and check is my advice. The difference is between just working and working well (performance).

I've got a brand new standard size DT piston you can have if you want it.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Cycle god did you suss out the 8th oversize ? is that a size hehehe ( 2mm sounds more respectful)

I think the RT use the dyke rings like the early DT so the piston crown is differant and thesection is missing where the 'L' ring sits, they look the same kinda otherwise so i guess you could buy it and see, i have been buying up a lot of those shift cams ( after my last experiance) from that seller and he always post quickly if thats any help
