TROPHEE DES NATIONS: 1973 @ Dodington Park (33 Photos)
« on: April 29, 2015, 05:11:55 am »
These copyrighted photos by Dewhurst are sublime.  Crystal-clear professional photography.
I haven't seen them before.  I strongly recommend you to pan through these!!
They will go full-screen in slide show,  if you click again on first large photo.

•  Check out the Montesa car and trailer behind Husky #41 on crate. (11th photo)
•  There's good viewing of the works trucks and stickers etc, and the sweeping valley in several pix.
•  And gating numbers strung up (behind Scottish team)
•  Is that a hand-drawn moe on Ake in slide four?
•  Check Jimmy Aird gunning the CCM!

Not all of those photos are from the Trophee event.. the Trophee was for for 250cc bikes only..there are many others is that collection..as noted Jimmy the crab .. and Lackey and Mikkola both shown on 360 HVA.. you (could) tell if the pics were in colour.. as the open class bikes have the yellow background numberplates.. and the 250's have the green.. so a mix of pics from different events I think.. great pics none the less.. interesting to see the Yamaha guys pitted alongside the Kawi guys..

Yep - I had another look.
DeCoster's 250 is plated #1      His big-bore is #2
Adolph Weil's 250 plated #26    His big-bore is #10

Internet says 500 MX Des Nats was at Wohlen.  But jeepers, many of
these pix look like they are shot at the same place. Apparently not.
Wish I could be there now - looks unreal.  Just look at that grass!   :)

I've zoomed in on a couple of pix.  (Yes, I've looked at these bloody photos
about ten times over past two days!)

Montesa hauler ... is it a little Pommy car, like maybe a Triumph?

---
Well-known 500 GP works rider of BSA four-strokes, big John Banks
seen here dwarfing his loaner 250 Pursang ... and puttin' in for the GB Trophee team

---
Sid Snot ponders oldest GP git Adolph Weil.  And German mechanic wears a 'Cole Bros' ... a USA tee?

---
1970s Europeans always had debatable dress sense on the GP circuit.
I think this Kwaka is Hammargren's 250 ride.  Sox have lost elastic and seem intentionally stretched ...
and flop over De Riguer pit clogs.  Or have sox been cut-off halfway down ankle, to create Clog-Savers?

Gotta love Vic Eastwood.

A 500cc GP and he is wearing a rugby jersey and no goggles or face protection.
If you love it, lube it.
