Rm125s engine numbers

I've been looking at 1975 rm125 the owner claims is an S. The engine and frame are RM125 -11xxx and I know the S started at 19800. The bike has thes sectional pipe and big carb. The CDI isn't on the headstock. I seem to recall that before the S came out you could buy an S kit. Is it possiblethis bike is an M with the S kit and if so would it be considered as valuable as an S?

There's a thread on here about the "s" model . I bought one about 18 months ago, paid $1000.00 for it, original and running. Even had the 'S' sticker in the middle of the tank but was missing the oh so important muffler.

I would say you have a RM125M frame and engine (frame / engine numbers RM125-10001- 30000) and given the CDI is not on the headstock seems to confirm this.

Some say an original M is more valuable than the S because the M was phased out in Australia quite quickly due too the poor performance against the competitors, so there was typically not as many in Australia compared to the S. In saying this, there's not many of either in original condition left anywhere.

Main difference between M and S are:
Hand made pipe (sectional), 34mm Carby (and jetting) mounted via an adapter plate, larger throated airbox, CDI up on headstock, supposedly hand ported barrel (can't confirm), different BTDC timing and maybe different CDI (again can't confirm).

M is way rarer , S models are like arseoles everyone's got one  saying that I am down to my last 3
