Rota / Stator gap
« on: March 31, 2015, 08:13:47 pm »
I just put an after market ignition on my RM after the old one died.   The question I have is that there is a bigger gap between the stator and rota on one side than the other.  .1 mm Vs .4mm  Is this ok or does it have to be same both sides ?  It has spark but I'm worried it may effect the timing.

Adjust the screws on your backing plate = stators so they  should be close to same ..... but you only need an air gap for it to work in theory.
