Dave Evans for me, and Jeff Ward mimicking him on the 50.

VisorVu was the name of those peaks with the mirrors. Bryan Wade used them as well.

Did Gally have Macklin Yamaha on his tank in '76 ?

Yep Gally was sponsored Macklin Yamaha and had"MACKLIN" on the tank.

A couple of Supercross Questions, from the Blair Shepherd era.

What was Blair's racing number when he raced Speedway?

What other sport was he instrumental in getting started(now in the Olympics)?

Name 4 US riders that came to Supercross Events promoted by Blair(not all raced)?

Blair raced #99.

If you're referring to the Mike Goodwin/Blair Shepherd supercross at the Sydney showground, Rex Staten, Marty Smith and Mike "Too Tall" Bell raced, and Doug Domokos pulled UNROOL wheelies right round the track on a KLX250, and outside the showground and across the harbour bridge, on a Z1300.

Also he had Chuck Sun at Archerfield pretty early on...

This one is a"you would have to have been there"question,at the first Sydney SX.

What was stolen from the centre of the track at the end of the racing, while many thousands of people watched on?

Here's one. What was Steve Cramer riding at the Calder International Moto CrossE? Any self respecting nerd should know this. J

Well done children! Not sure about Steve Cramer but I think it would have been a Suzuki RM370(maybe a "works bike"RA)

Inside info about the Blair Shepherd SX era,my brother and I supplied the Starting Gates at all of his events, and it was amazing to"see" how he operated. It was a family affair, his son Scott was a pretty handy rider, his wife was a big part of the show, and his soninlaw was the track builder, all worked hard at putting on a good show.

I remember at the first Sydney Event, going up to his suite at the Boulevad Hotel(part of our deal was free accommodation)who were one of the sponsors, and joining them for breakfast consisting of a cup of tea and toast. We could not afford room service, and even though the Sydney Showgrounds was packed on Saturday night,Blair reckoned it was too dear as well!

The other memorable event was at Archerfield Speedway. We turned up in the middle of a tropical downpour, and set the gates up,the rain never stopped, the races went on,while we huddled under an umbrella. The next morning the sun was shining, and we sold the set of gates to the Minibike Club that had their track there,it saved us having to pack the gate up.
