Footpegs advice YZ and RM
« on: September 12, 2014, 04:21:54 pm »
Hi, trying to source some decent pegs for YZ250G and RM125B. I spoke to Les at VMX unlimited, he can't help me as Proform don't do them for that model RM, and they make them for the YZ but he can't get stock at the moment. Anybody know what will fit these bikes off another model without too much modifications needed?

Current RM85 footpegs fit the B.....fit 10mm pins as well to get rid of the flogged out holes.
QVMX.....Australia's #1 VMX club......leading the way.

Buy the YZ proform pegs from dcvmx.com

You can also use footpegs wideners from GMC or Ballards for the B.

With the B just check the welds around the footpegs. We had a peg just shear the welded bracket straight off the frame the other week on this model. Wider , longer pegs will place more stress on these welds. I will be welding a strap right around the bottom frame rail to strengthen the area. We nearly DNS for the meeting just one lap into practice.

Craig, to reduce the chance of the problem Ted refers to, perhaps the easiest solution is to weld a set of wideners from Ballards, etc.
Cheers

Late model YZ pegs fit old model YZs with a little bit of grinding. Gotta use the late model return springs too.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

How the springs attach to base of frame mount is a pain ..... ended up welding a little tag in place.

I have several of my yamaha YZ and IT fitted with these.

Little bit of fiddling to get them to fit, like drilling out the pin hole for bigger pins.

I've used the original spring in most cases.

Those pegs have wideners welded to the outside of the original pegs.
Personaly I believe the gap inbetween the 2 serated parts end up mud catchers
I don't beleive they are worth bringing in from the states, surely there must be a better set out there somewhere?
