Cheney
« on: August 24, 2014, 09:06:56 pm »
After endless distractions I've finally been able to get on a bit on the Cheney Yam.

I've been wanting to make it blue, and found a blue NOS Petty Tony D.
Now I really would like a blue Petty MX REAR also.
Must me new or very good condition, happy for any leads!
Thanks

They are on ebay USA all the time or look up Strickly Hodaka, they are remaking them. How did you go with the tacho drive for the Bully?

Thanks, but Hodaka don't do the MX REAR.
Maier plastic does the fender, but not in blue.

I haven't found a drive yet, the british company didn't reply to emails.
Have made contact with a couple of guys who might be able to help.
I got the correct fairing and screen for it the other day...

I have one of those blue fronts i had been trying to swap for a yellow for ages.
Your build seems a few months away from completion at least so if you can wait till a month or 2 from now, then see what Hodakas are doing. They are moving production to Italy and are revamping the whole entire PP range, new colours, fenders etc. Paul said this months ago and said around October or september sometime, the shift to Italy may be complete.
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022

Thanks, no problem to wait for a while.

The guy I bought this from probably has a nos yellow Tony D.

I'll ask him for you when I get in touch with him again.
