YZ465H Tank
« on: July 30, 2014, 05:27:58 pm »
In my travels today I found a white YZ465H tank, looked pretty good and still has the original decals on it.

Are these sought after? I dont have a YZ and dont need it but I dont see many for sale either.

If anyone needs one,, send me a PM andI will go back and suss old mate out and see if he wants to sell it.

Hi Adam. That tank would bolt to my YZ250G I think. Can you see how much he wants for it please.

Thanks
Craig

Craig if it's a 465 H tank it will look huge on your 250. That's why everyone runs a 250 tank on their 465's. It's only three or four laps mate, not a 45 minute moto. You don't need such a large tank ;D

Thanks Ted but I need a new tank and can't find a 250 one ... probably because they're all on the bloody 465's :)

OK, with work commitments I may not be able to get back there until early next week, but as soon as I can I will go and see him and find out the details.

As Craig was first I will  pass the info to him first, then to Paul if necessary.

I don't have a YZ and don't have any need for this tank, I just thought I would do my forum "good deed" and mention what I found on here, so it may help you guys out. I'm not interested in creating a shit storm over it ;D.

Let me get back to you....

Cheers

Lol .. no shit storm required. I was unaware they were available new so will look into that option whilst you look into the details and price.

If your mate wants too much and I can get a new one for not a lot more then I might go that way and Paul can have it but will wait and see first.

And I'm sure we all appreciate you honouring the first in first served method Adam :)

Cheers
Craig

Guys, I have a spare YZ465 tank if you are after one.  Not restoration quality but good enough to use on the track.

PM me if you want it

My quick research has the tank capacities as;

250G = 7.6L
465G = 9L
250H = 9L
465H = 10L

Buying a second hand YZ tank is like buying a ticking timebomb if you ask me.  It's only a matter of time until it's going to split (especially if it has been stored dry for a long time).  My choice would be the VMX unlimited tank.  It's not exactly the right shape, but only YZ people will be able to pick it, and like Ted says, you are unlikely to need 10 litres  :o.

Top marks Adam for offering it up  8)
Looking for YZ250C parts NOS if possible
