Bloody hell, what an amazing effort. I too hope they finish, I take my hat off to the side car guys at the best of time, let alone at the 24hr. I rode the 24hr once, in 95 on a KTM 300, and I remember on the last lap in the morning, coming across a sidecar that had managed to get through the previous day, the night and most of the last lap only to have the chair wheel break off with only about 70km to go... poor buggers were still trying to make it home by riding it sort of on an angle, an awesome effort. I never did find out who they were or if they finished or not. The 24 ranks right up there in my opinion as one of the toughest, but most enjoyable rides I have done, and the effort everybody in S.A. (the clubs, organisers, riders, support crews, landowners etc) puts in for it is amazing.
