A big thanks to Tony the earthmover who worked like a dog from 8.00am until dark on Saturday to get the track prepared, and for the club members who put in a big effort with watering etc on the day. Once again Ravenswood at its best, fast & flowing, mostly grippy granite sand with a little bit of slippery clay to keep you on your toes, and no dust. From my understanding most went away happy and are looking forward to the next one. My day was mixed with a chain derail in the first race on the Husky 390, with the resulting damage causing her to be parked for the day. The back up bike ('77 CR 125 Honda) lasted 2 events but put up a healthy protest by refusing to start for a third, saying something like "no way with that fat arse!" And finally my mates RM125A which was winning the evo 125 class by a mile, until he lent it to me for a pre'78 race, after which it too expired with me aboard! I don't think 125's like me. Another mates '79 KTM250 MC5 did however survive the race I rode it in. I only managed to do practise & 4 of the 10 races I had scheduled but had a ball anyway. Looking forward to the VCM round at Ravenswood on August 24th. Anyone who can make it along should, as it will be another fantastic meeting.
Cheers,
K
