Bathurst Showground Longtrack November
« on: June 20, 2014, 07:56:25 pm »
I am probably letting the cat out early
Thank you to Glen McDonald for the call today and to Firko
An "Old School" Flattrackers class is planned for the event
It will probably be Singles and Twins combined (go Pete)
The more exotic the better, Astros, Framers, Specials
It is only fair that Panorama members get first crack at entries

Don't chase the Panorama MCC or Glen yet
Just post your interest on here for now
There should also be an unlimited 2 stroke class
Excellent timing for the SON Lozza project

Should have the 580 CCM Trackmaster finished by then and the 22 son can pilot it in anger. I'll be happy to take a gentler ride on her at some stage. Keep me in the loop if spots are available.

Sounds good to me Graeme. Not having ridden there before I will need some advice on gearing and tyre choice.

Pete, Bathurst Showground is a half-mile cushion track, although it has been re-surfaced since bikes raced there last. Glenn McDonald may be able to give you a heads-up on tyres and gearing, I take it you are riding the RD ? Bloody hell, I'm looking forward to the meeting !! See ya there, eh ?

Thanks Al. I'll wait until it becomes official and then give Glenn a call. I reckon the RD will be pretty good around there.
Pete.

Looking like a few Speedway Stars might be back for this meeting,
And a few Legends as well,
Hopefully as big as the TBC

not sure, it's been 20 + years since i have done a competitive dirt track, and last rode Bathurst showgroung at the Mauger promoted event in 1991. Might have to buy a 10 litre drum of WD40 i'm bloody rusty.

do they run practice days at Broady Hilly? i am so far out of the loop these days. Maybe get the 250 going in dirt track trim and ease up to Big Red may be the go, then go the tall gearing for the 800m Bathurst Showground.
