Alan West rings a bell.
Pretty sure he owned a Honda dealership in Coffs Harbour too.
Jeff Dawson is another gun from Northern NSW.
Raced against this dude at a local Pony express in 1990 a he blew everyone into the weeds.

picked this up of the net
357 Love, Howard ZA Kawasaki

Now that's an interesting one (off topic here). A while ago I managed to become one with a tree at high speed. When in hospital I had a physio who was an absolute dish named Collette Love, anyway she treated me very well. Beers with mates in hospital was ok) but she treated the bloke next to me like crap. He'd had a road bike crash when pissed and asked about her attitude to him and me. She said that I was enjoying a healthy outdoor sport when I had an accident. No different from a rugby player. Whereas my neighbour was a wat. She also said her dad rode enduros. You've just filled in the missing piece. Thanks.

Check the names here and check the DNF's. Many names on here that you would recognize today.
Note that Gavin McLeod came 2nd in the under 250's on a XR200. Insane.
