The only thing missing of that bike is the exhaust resonator box.
The bike is that good, that it would be a sin to restore it.
Spit and polish and you would have a genuine slice of time.

I couldn't see the airbox or the boot between the carby and airbox.  Or is that an optical illusion?

Photos sent to you Mick and thanks very much for your help.

THE FRAME NUMBER IS     no B-85008-12

What does that mean -  008  ???

Cheers

Pete

The "85" is what is important Pete.
That means it is a model 85 Alpina 250. That was produced from 1971 till 1974.
I believe it means the 812 one made.

Gee, you have a keen eye Craig.
I think I may have the exact correct complete air box here for one of these babes.
I wonder if I could find it? ::)

Pete, I have been looking forward to catching up with you, with Broadford in mind.
But with all the resent events and changes in my life(all positive, I am free ;) )I am forced to compromise some VMX events though.
Time and money ::) The purchase of this Alpina has cemented my instead choice ::)
I now have Nepean more firmly than ever in mind ;D

I am keen to squeeze this one in too(need time and money to prepare some bikes)

Actually HusabergPete, doesn't know yet, but I intend to offer him a bribe tonight, in an effort to get this Alpina to
Gloucester, if he can squeeze it on :)

Hey if you are in Oz at the time Pete(yamaico)? you could have a great weekend with the rest of us.
put some trials tyres on the RD and help us destroy their showground ;D

Expecting some  8) as Bluez music too ;)

This one should be high on the must do attend ,,,,,,,,,

No worries Mick, it's all about priorities. I'm bloody happy you snagged that Bully. Gloucester sounds great but I think I will be in Thailand - if not I'll be there for sure.
Pete.

Bought a pair of those for my BSA Pre65 I will try to find the ebay store I got them from. It was in england and the guards are good quality.

I purchased a set about 3months ago from MD Racing Products in the UK

Try this - front silver - part number - UFO UNIVERSAL VINTAGE FRONT FENDER 1960-1974 8000 S
http://www.mdracingproducts.co.uk/products/ufo-universal-front-fender-cross-enduro-me08000

and this - rear silver (also lists metallic?) - part mumber silver UFO VINTAGE MOTOCROSS REAR FENDER 1960-1974 8020 S
http://www.mdracingproducts.co.uk/universal-rear-fender-cross-27#

I would recommend that you clean and seal the internal of the fuel tank against modern fuels as a first priority. Probably last for years as is but could fail and that would be a shame
