Eerie
« on: December 11, 2013, 03:45:21 pm »
Working in a steel plant in Vietnam on a strip cooling upgrade. Every time I walk up the steps to where the equipment is I get a niggling feeling that I should be at home working on the pipes for my RD flat tracker. Can't quite put my finger on why.....

You're right Mick, will be good to be home.
My bar bill from last Saturday night will support the Vietnamese economy for many years to come, so no problems there ;D

I'd like to see Geoff's jig for that one. ;D

I think that was one of the jigs I lost out the back somewhere ;D

I used to make a lot of that stuff in my apprenticeship, lobster backs and cones all made out of 2 or 3mm stainless and anything from ¾” dia up to 24” dia
I swore after I left that job I would never make another cone again :o

Geoff lots of difference if you are making them for VMXers
Pete I'd be getting one of those back street scooter race shops to build the cones for you
Cheaper than Maccas fries, I mean Chips.
Reminds me of my last trip to Asia where I bought a few hand made chambers for peanuts
Then startled the 20 onlookers by cutting the new pipes up with a hacksaw.

I'm a very low volume operation Graeme, and actually enjoy making pipes. If I was doing them for others like Geoff I'm sure the novelty would have worn off long ago :)

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
