I am obviously not going to be up early Simo. Hopefully Firko will be around to help you.
I will share my concerns,,,
I am a bit suspect about this bike.
Make sure it is the one the seller has pictured.
He has the engine number listed as 381341,,,that really confuses me??
I was told Maico shipped engines as well as complete bikes.
I was told reliably they made two runs of these 350cc engines.
I was told they were close ratio, so that means the serial number begins with "T"
When the first run of engines were produced they were serial stamped under the cylinder on the right hand side,,
The first run were numbered in the lower 200,, that is; "T4022**
By the time the second run were produced they had started stamping the serial numbers on the right hand engine case
right above the counter sprocket, the numbers were still "T402" but had now jumped to the six hundreds,, that is "T4026**
Mick Hockley told a friend of mine that he had bought one bike complete and virtually pieced together the second one himself,, I don't know which was which,, but given the 350cc engines were freely available separately at the time?
I see the pic of that bike shows a decompressor lever on the bars, so if it has a valve on the rear of the cylinder it has to be a 350(345)
The top of the cylinder will have 350cc stamped on it.
With the head off, the measured stroke should be 74mm and the crank is stamped 350 also
Why does the seller think it is a 400?? there must be no ID plate on the steering head?
In that condition, It is a bargain regardless of whether it is a 250/350/360/400.
Sweet handler.
Rossco(NSW), AKA Turtle, absolutely hammers on a 250. He loves it, a definite keeper.
