Anthony close to missing the boat for max value, plus sell that many there wont bee 100 buyers so value will be less

He's kept them too long..  while the 80's stuff is booming and on the rise, particularly pre 90 bikes.
I agree (to a point). While Anthony's got some good desirable stuff like M 11 Metisses, Banditos, Metrallas, Sherpa T's and all shapes and sizes of Pursangs, he's also got a lot of blah stuff like Alpinas, Lobitos and other less desirable oddballs. While the market for pre 75 racers might have flat lined or declined the market for much of the other stuff has bottomed out. Anthony'll have a hard time selling much of his stash.

The price and demand for 70's mxers is declining
I think you're pretty right when the scene is looked at in an overall sense but I've noticed that some pre 75 and in particular pre 65 bikes have maintained their value or in some cases have increased in value. The pre 65 market was in rapid decline a few years ago but over the last couple of years the value of a good Mk3 Metisse, Cheney or even a decent BSA B44 has gone up appreciably. In the pre 75/78 era, interesting or rare bikes have maintained their value.....Yamaha YZ-A/B, RH74/75 Suzuki's, '74 400/440 Maico, BSA B50 and oddball rarities like Harley Davidson 250MX and the like can still get good money while good Spanish pre 75 250 or open classers have kept a decent market value. The resurgence of the pre 75 and pre 65 classes in recent times has halted much of the drop in value although common bikes such as MX Yamahas, TM Suzukis and Honda Elsinores have dropped about 30% in value over the last few years. A lot of the decline in bike value is more a reflection of the economy than of  the decline of  the classes but it's a fact that as the aging baby boomers leave the sport, younger racers won't want to ride their bikes. The next couple of years are going to be very interesting as far as bike values rising or declining.

I think you'll find there's heaps of old Bully's parked in sheds.. A mate has his original 370 mk9 pursang unused since the day lying in the shed corner in a sad state.

I have a MK3 boat tail, a MK6/7 Pursang and 250 Frontera that I let out for a run whenever injury, shift work allows. Their the easiest things in the world to work on and I've never had a problem sourcing parts from Peter Schoener at Bultaco Parts Australia. He is also a font of knowledge on all things Bultaco. There's about 6 that compete regularly at VCM rounds down here in sunny Mexico. Must admit I've felt lonely at the odd Vinduro that I've managed to get to. J

There are still a few of us in Heaven that race them. There were three entered in the recent CRC.One taking second in the pre 70 John Hine shield.
There will be at least two at the Heaven vinduro this weekend.
I agree with Jerry that they are easy to work on and probably have the best parts supply and service of any vintage brand. My current project is a Mk 10 pursang for pre 78 next year.

Anthony Suttor has been selling off a few of the alledged 100 Bultaco's over the last few years.
As for the Mettises,Pursangs Astros and Frontera's he had quite a few, but also had a lot of other less popular models (junk) and other brands,Husky,Ossa and jap bikes etc.I think its a bit of an urban myth now that his shed is still full of Mettises and other desirables.
I have seen Donny's treasure trove and have difficulty understanding why he is still out buying bikes(recently bought a couple of trailer loads from Newcastle). I am not sure his son Tom is all that interested in them and would hate to see them become landfill.
The dirt track fraternity in Sydney is a bit of a growth area with half a dozen regulars on Bully's.

Pre 65 also seems to have a renewed interest,I know of three bikes under construction at the moment.

The 15th Annual Bultaco Rally will be held this year on the 23-24th November at Braidwood (near Canberra)  Enquiries to John 02 62916446. All Spanish bikes welcome.
I will post the flyer as soon as I can.

I still have this 360 but the 125 in the photo is long gone but still in Vic. I have a 125 Mk8 project and 2 Mk6 350 projects.

Stan.

Awesome looking bikes Stanley.....Moto, I was at Donny's the other day.....he has that much stuff it's ridiculous....he could keep all the Bultaco's in the world going for years and your pretty much on the money with Tommy not wanting all the shit....Christ, it would take years to catalogue all of it....it's not just Bully stuff either....I reckon he would have over 200 NOS mudguards....nothing is on computer, most of it in his head. Most of his time is spent looking after Marie, like he said to me....when you marry it's for better or worse...at the moment it's the latter...tough old bugger but you have to respect him. You could start another bike club up with all the bikes he has....some beautiful TSS's as well.

Cheese youve hurt me now Tatters, I have my Mk7 250 at all BMCC meetings.
Also at this point there are more Bultacos entered for the Classic Nats than Suzukis.
While Im on a roll Bultaco has got a sponsor, Suzuki hasnt ??
