i have a set from a 88 model to trade or sell

Someone else can probably confirm, but I'm pretty sure the front caliper is the same until 1993, at least.

the clymer manual also says the 88 and 89 are different,,the 88 one i have doesnt line up with the mounts on the forks,,,not sure thou if they use another bracket or they bolt directly to the forks

Yep. The mounting points on the RWU Honda disc fronts was the same from 83-89 (and maybe for the later XRs?).
They changed to the mounting points with the bolts much closer together for the first USDs in 89. Don't know how long that kept going for.

89-91 is the same carrier (Bracket) I think they changed after that...

Am interested in buying 88 front brake setup,is it in good working condition is it master cylinder and calliper and how much do you want for it ???

I have a 94 set if thats some help . dosent look hard to retro fit
