Yamaha cylinder base gasket - make or buy?
« on: May 19, 2008, 01:50:29 pm »
I need a cylinder base gasket for my IT250E.
Can I get suitable gasket material and make my own?
Why do IT250D and IT250E and IT250F and YZ250D and YZ250E and YZ250F base gaskets all have different part numbers?
Can't I just get a few IT250F base gaskets and use them in the IT250D or IT250E?
Is it just a minor difference in thickness? Or are they all the same thickness and slightly different design?

Where can I get some gasket paper of equivalent quality to the Yamaha gasket?

we make all our base gaskets you can buy
different thicknesses from coventry auto or repco
when you make the gasket its better to make it slightly wider
around the transfer ports (thats the skinny bit)
by a couple of ml 8)
built a lot of motors and have never had a problem ;D

If you know what thickness material you require, I can probably get it for you.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
